End the Year With Kindness for Local Children
The final days of the year invite us to look back at what mattered. They can also be a gentle reminder that the kindness we choose now can reach into the days ahead.
Through December 31, 2026, The Kind Mouse invites our community to close A Season of Kindness with a year-end gift. You can make a one-time contribution or choose monthly giving. Both are ways to support the work of providing dependable food for children across Pinellas and Manatee Counties.
A Season of Kindness has offered several ways to take part this fall and winter, from community events to a Holiday Food Drive. Year-end giving is the invitation for someone who would like to help directly as the calendar closes. You do not have to have attended an event or organized a collection. There is room for the person who is just finding The Kind Mouse today.
A gift rooted close to home
For a child, the most meaningful care is often steady and familiar. The Kind Mouse helps fill gaps in children’s food needs, working with volunteers and trusted community partners to get food to children with dignity and care. The organization serves over 1,000 children each week in Manatee County alone.
A year-end gift is one way to join that work. It can also be an invitation to pause and ask what kind of neighbor you would like to be in the coming year. If ongoing support fits your plans, a monthly gift lets you carry that intention forward beyond December.
Giving near the end of the year can feel like leaving a light on for someone else. You may have attended an event, shared the Holiday Food Drive with your workplace or simply followed the season from afar. A gift is another way to take part, wherever the last weeks of December find you.
Known as a gap filler, The Kind Mouse helps meet children’s food needs that other services may not cover. Volunteers and trusted community partners help make that care possible. The work is steady, and it does not stop at the end of a campaign. That is why a gift made in December can be part of a much longer story.

One gift now or a little kindness each month?
A one-time gift is a simple way to act on what matters to you right now. Monthly giving is another choice for someone who wants to make support a regular part of the coming year. Neither choice needs a grand announcement. The important thing is that it fits your life and helps sustain the local mission you have chosen.
If you are considering a monthly gift, think of it less as a resolution to keep perfectly and more as an intention you can live with. The Kind Mouse’s work takes place across ordinary weeks, through familiar routes to children. A recurring gift is one way to stay connected to that work as those weeks pass. If a one-time gift is what you can offer, it belongs here too.
Choose your way to take part
The Season of Kindness has brought neighbors together through Bags and Baubles, the Holiday Food Drive, GivingTuesday and Mistletoe Market. Year-end giving is another way to be part of the same shared effort. There is no perfect moment or perfect amount required to care about local children.
The season has also shown how many shapes kindness can take. A person can attend an event. A school can collect food. A friend can share a page with someone who might want to give. Year-end gifts are part of that same community picture. Some acts are visible; some are wonderfully quiet. Children deserve the dependable care behind both.
As you look toward the new year, consider what you want your support to say. Maybe it says that local children should be able to count on their neighbors. Maybe it says that a little regular generosity feels more possible than a single big gesture. The Kind Mouse welcomes either starting point. The choice is yours, and the invitation is open through December 31.
Visit the A Season of Kindness page to make a year-end gift by December 31 or begin a monthly gift. Share the page with a friend if the story of this season speaks to you. Kindness does not check the calendar. It simply keeps going. Thank you for helping us fill little tummies.
