We are proud to share that Gina Wilkins, founder of The Kind Mouse, has been recognized through the Remarkable Women Awards by News Channel 8.
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Surrounded by the volunteers who nominated her and presented her with a $1,000 donation for the charity of her choice, Gina Wilkins learned that the community she spent years serving is now celebrating her.
“I’m so shocked; it hasn’t hit me yet,” Wilkins said moments after the surprise. “In like an hour I’m going to be like — oh my gosh!”
Wilkins is News Channel 8’s 2026 Remarkable Woman of the Year, chosen from hundreds of nominations highlighting women making a powerful difference across the Tampa Bay area.
For 14 years, Wilkins has worked to make sure no child in Pinellas County goes hungry.She founded The Kind Mouse in 2012, turning compassion into action for families facing hardship and children experiencing chronic hunger.
